Aurora Organic Dairy to change practices

BOULDER – Aurora Organic Dairy, one of the nation’s largest organic milk and butter operations, has agreed to meet several conditions imposed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service in order to maintain organic certification for its Platteville plant.

The agreement between Aurora and the USDA is the result of negotiations after Aurora was served with a Notice of Proposed Revocation earlier this year alleging violations of National Organic Program regulations, according to the USDA.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aurora must file new organic systems plans for its Platteville and Dublin, Texas, facilities. The plans must address inconsistencies…
