Peachy weekend set to go in Lafayette; Longmont hosts skateboard nationals
Late summer is a time of abundance of fresh basil, corn and fruit.
While there are several local farmers’ markets to visit, one festival specializes in a favorite – the peach.
The Lafayette Peach Festival with antiques, arts and crafts takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, on South Public Road.
The owner of Morton’s Orchards, located in Palisade (just east of Grand Junction), will bring enough peaches to fill more than a semi-truck. There will also be peach cobbler, peach smoothies and additional peach dishes.
