Product amps lithium-ion staying power, capacity

LOUISVILLE – If Tim Feaver has his way, the Energizer Bunny would never stop going. Feaver’s Louisville-based company, Porous Power Technologies, has created a new technology that boosts high-rate capacity of lithium batteries by 300 percent or more.

So far, Porous Power is focusing on manufacturers in target markets such as power tools, aerospace, military, medical devices, digital and video cameras, cell phones and laptop computers. Feaver says his company expects to sell limited exclusive licenses to qualified manufacturers who wish to make, use or sell the technology, including upfront license payments and ongoing volume-based royalties.
