NCMC’s heart-attack care rates in top 1 percent

GREELEY — A major national health-care rating service says North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley ranks in the top 1 percent of hospital nationwide in a measure of the quality of heart attack treatment.

Total Benchmark Solution LLC, an independent health-care rating company, analyzed data from 5,500 registered U.S. hospitals that the institutions provided to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. NCMC ranked 51st among all hospitals.

The measure is based on data gathered before the recent opening of the hospital’s Cardio Vascular Institute of North Colorado, part of a 314,000-square-foot expansion at NCMC.
