First Western Trust to merge with Cherry Creek firm
DENVER – First Western Trust Bank will merge with Sterling Partners, a Cherry Creek-based wealth management firm.
First Western operates an office in Denver and one in Fort Collins. The trust bank entered the Northern Colorado market early last year when it bought Poudre River Valley Trust Co. and James Sprout and Associates.
The merger with Sterling Partners will go into effect Feb. 28 and the combined entities will operate under First Western Trust Bank. The Cherry Creek office will remain open and eventually offer the full range of First Western’s banking services. The company is not releasing the financial terms of the merger.
First Western ended 2004 with more than $60 million in bank assets. Post merger, First Western will have more than $400 million in trust and investment management assets under advice or administration.
