Home sales hottest in Longmont zip code

Longmont’s 80501 zip code – which covers an area east of Hover Road – led Northern Colorado in sales of existing homes during the first quarter of 2003.

According an analysis of Multiple Listing System data by RE/MAX International, real estate agents sold 224 listings in the 80501 zip code, totaling $48,971,550 in sales, with an average home price of $218,623

Existing home sales in west Greeley’s 80634 zip code came in second with 207 sales for a total of $40,573,970 in sales and an average home price of $196,010. This area led the MLS in number of sales during the first quarter of 2002.

Other leading zip codes in Northern Colorado include: 80538, the area north of U.S. Highway 34 in Loveland, with 201 existing home sales;188 sales in area code 80525 in southeast Fort Collins; 179 sales in area code 80526 in southwest Fort Collins and 158 sales in area code 80537, the area south of U.S. Highway 34 in Loveland.

Zip code 80504 in far eastern part of Longmont scored second for average home price. In this area 21 existing homes were sold at an average price of $479,094, second only to an zip code 80210 in the geographical center of Denver, around Interstate 25 and Colorado Boulevard, with an average sales price of $525,000.

The MLS includes 100 zip codes in 76 communities in Colorado, including areas in Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and Loveland.

Overall in the first quarter of 2003, MLS reported that real estate agents sold 3,297 listings, with a total sales volume of $809 million at an average sales price of $245,300.

These numbers are generally better than those of the first quarter of 2002, when real estate agents sold 2,945 listings in Northern Colorado with a total sales volume of $736 million. However, during the first three months of 2002, the average sales price of these listings was a little higher than this year, at $250,018.

The top individual brokerages in sales in the area were The Group Inc. with 2,082 listings sold, Coldwell Banker Residential/NRT with 1,620 listings sold and RE/MAX First Associates with 826 listings sold.
