Larimer County Fair signs deal with carnival company
LOVELAND — The Larimer County Fair Board signed a five-year contract with Bill Hames Shows to provide rides, games and concessions during the annual fair.
The Texas-based company agreed to pay the Fair Board a guaranteed $90,000 for the first two years of the contract, with a 5 percent compounded increase over the next three years. If 35 percent of the company’s gross is more than the guarantee, the fair will receive the higher of the two totals.
“They presented a very attractive proposal to the board, as far as the guarantee,´ said Bob Holt, fair and fairgrounds manager. “It’s the highest revenue maker of the whole fair,”

As one of the largest carnival providers in Colorado, Wyoming and Texas, Bill Hames Shows has provided midway entertainment for the Colorado State Fair, Greeley Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Wyoming State Fair.
This year’s fair runs from July 31 to Aug. 6. It is the last fair to be held at the Fairgrounds in Loveland, as the new Fairgrounds on the east side of Interstate 25 in Loveland will be open for the 2004 season.
“They’ll really have a great show to provide when we get to the new fairgrounds,” Holt said.
