Real Estate: Windsor Safeway center near capacity after 1 year

WINDSOR — And then there was one.

The Safeway shopping center in Windsor, which opened to in-line retail tenants last October, is down to a lone vacant space following the lease of 3,700 square feet to Washington Mutual Inc.

Bob Pennock, leasing agent with Re/Max Advanced in Fort Collins, has placed 12 tenants on either side of Safeway and has 1,650 square feet left to rent.

The success of the anchor — the Windsor Safeway is “one of the region’s best,” Pennock said — makes him wonder why the center isn’t 100 percent occupied.
