Ken Monfort Honored
Kenneth Monfort will be posthumously recognized by the Colorado State University Alumni Association at the April 20 Distinguished Alumni Awards Program. Monfort’s family members will accept the William E. Morgan Alumni Achievement Award on his behalf. In a prepared statement, CSU President Albert Yates said that the cattleman and philanthropist was CSU’s greatest benefactor, citing his role in establishing scholarships, supporting the meat-science program and providing a large donation for the Fum McGraw Athletic Center. Monfort, who died in February, attended CSU from 1946 to 1949, when it was still Colorado A&M.
