GoLite gear lightens load for climbers

BOULDER -— Sure, everybody would like to lose a few pounds. Few, however, have the tenacity for weight reduction of Demitri “Coup” Coupounas and wife/business partner Kim, owners of mountaineering gear manufacturer GoLite.

The Harvard Business School graduates are so dedicated to reducing the weight of the equipment they produce that a loss of a quarter of an ounce is cause for celebration.

Even their business cards are ultra-light in terms of materials and information. Printed on the lightest possible card stock, they have holes down the center to lighten them still further and contain only essential contact information.
