Old Lyons Recorder changes hands

Walt Kinderman, publisher of the Old Lyons Recorder since 1981, has retired and sold the small community newspaper to News Media Corp. of Rochelle, Ill. Kinderman will stay in the area and travel. He will also keep the building.

The transaction was completed Oct. 5 when Jim Wood, who lives in Cheyenne, Wyo., took over as publisher. News Media also purchased the Old Berthoud Recorder in Bethoud , Colo. with a circulation of 1,900. He declined to say what his company paid for the newspapers.
