New owners for Evans’ Heritage Inn

73-room hotel fetches $2.3 mil

April breathed new life into a ghost of Northern Colorado’s past when a pair of hotel managers from the Pacific Northwest traded in beachfronts and ocean views for Evans’ starry nights and open spaces.

Philip Park and Chang Lee, owners of the Pennysaver Hotel in Portland, Ore., and the Country Inn in Colorado Springs, respectively, bought Evans’ Travelodge Heritage Inn in April for $2.3 million but are betting a good deal more that the 73-room hotel will be worth its gables in gold.
