New Leading Indicators index health checkup on local economy

Economic forecasts have lots of numbers, right? Neat charts and graphs with bars going up or down, and all sorts of fat numbers reflecting sales figures, building contracts and interest rates.

Various national prognostications cross all of our desks almost daily – GDP, CPI, TEA – enough acronyms to numb you entirely.

Certainly, what goes on in the national and even global economy affects businesses here in Boulder County. But with Colorado’s Front Range on an economic roll for the past decade, it’s easy to feel almost immune to any hard times other parts of the country may be experiencing.
