Small, local start-up company grows from garage to six figures
LOVELAND — Entrepreneurship is in Mark Brewer’s blood.
The longtime area resident practically grew up in the family’s Fort Col-lins and Loveland Laundromats, so when he had saved enough money, he opened up a business of his own.
In 1991, Brewer invested his savings in an $800 printing press and started running jobs out of his garage.
Today, his company — Marksman Printing — operates three presses out of 1,000 square feet of Loveland office space, has close to 150 customers, employs three people and reported gross sales of $215,000 in 1999.
