GRANTS

Cynthia Vaida of Steamboat Springs has pledged $10,000 to the Colorado BPW Foundation in honor of her maternal grandmother to establish the Helen Scott Calais Scholarship. The new scholarship will be managed by the Colorado BPW Foundation.

The Great Outdoors Colorado Board awarded the town of Nederland with a $25,000 grant to develop a land resource plan. The plan will guide future decisions for enhancing and protecting the environment in Nederland. The plan was funded by the Colorado Lottery.

Allergy specialists, Dr. Harold Nelson of the National Jewish Medical and Research Center and Dr. Stephen Dreskin of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, were awarded a $110,000 grant from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer to study the antihistamine citerizine.

The Boettcher Foundation of Denver approved a $500,000 grant to be added to the National Jewish Medical and Research Center’s Centennial Campaign. The funds will be used for the renovation and construction portion of the campaign.

Chevrolet Motor Division will sponsor the community service organization, “Up with People,” as it presents musical shows through the 2001 season.
