Vectra renamed Bank Colorado

DENVER — Bank Colorado is the new name for former Vectra Bank locations around the state being acquired by Zions Bancorporation.

Locally, Boulder and Longmont Vectra Bank locations will change names. Utah-based Zions plans to merge Colorado subsidiary banks, including Tri-State Bank locations, into a single bank charter under the Bank Colorado name.

“The new name and logo for Colorado was selected by our Colorado management team,´ said Harris Simmons, president and chief executive officer of Zions Bancorporation.

Bank Colorado will have 40 bank branches with assets of more than $1.6 billion, becoming Colorado’s sixth largest bank when the transaction is complete. Zions was rated the nation’s top-performing bank for 1996 among the 100 largest publicly traded commercial banking companies by “U.S. Banker” magazine. It was founded in 1873 and now has banking networks in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
