Regal names Zollars new manager

BOULDER –Hotel Manager Dean Hazelwood stepped down from his job at Regal Harvest House Hotel recently to be replaced by William Zollars, who previously held the job.

Zollars was general manager of the well-known hotel near 28th Street and Arapahoe Avenue from 1984 to 1988 under its former Clarion banner. Zollars comes to the job from his position as vice president of operations for Richfield Hospitality Services, the management division of Regal Hotels International.

“Dean contributed greatly to the positive image of the Regal Harvest House Hotel and was instrumental in both the hotel’s name change and remodeling programs,´ said Leslie Carlson, vice president of Regal Hotels in a statement. “We wish him well in the future.”

Zollars is also past director of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Boulder Hotel Association and past chair of the Boulder Bureau of Conferences and Cultural Arts. He also served as director of the Bal Swan Children’s Center in Broomfield.

The recently renovated Harvest House, one of Boulder’s leading business meeting sites, also is known for its tailgate parties before and after University of Colorado football games.

Regal Hotels in the past two years has invested more than $300 million in hotel properties around the world, including the $102 million purchase last year of the United Nations Plaza Hotel in New York.
