Businesses offer Valentine bouquet’ for DDC

BOULDER — Valentine’s Day will be a special opportunity for businesses and the Boulder Valley community to assist the Development Disabilities Center.

DDC is a private, not-for-profit organization that offers support services to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Last year,. Boulder-based DDC and Foreign Car Specialists, an auto repair shop, partnered to offer $10 oil changes on Valentine’s Day. All of the money made on the oil changes that day was contributed to DDC.

The event was so well received that this year DDC is creating a Valentine’s Day “bouquet” of goods and services around the county. Proceeds again will benefit DDC.

So far, participants this year include Foreign Car Specialists/First National Garage, Rio Grande Restaurant, University Bikes, Waldenbooks, Peter Rosen Jewelry, Mountain Sports, 15ø Restaurant, Casa Alavarez, Blackjack Pizza, The Walnut Cafe, Ideal Market and Wild Bird Center.

Other businesses are encouraged to participate in this special program, contributing a percentage of the day’s profits or contributing a particular service or making a direct contribution. The event will be advertised in local newspapers and countywide newsletters.

For further information, contact Alan Feld, DDC director of resource development, at 441-1492.
