Sunflower Bank announces new market president for Boulder

BOULDER — Sunflower Bank said Wednesday that banking veteran Kai Chin has been named market president for Boulder.

The Kansas-based bank has a branch in Longmont and earlier this year opened a branch in Boulder under the guidance of Chuck James, who no longer is with the organization.

Chin will work out of the bank’s branch office in Boulder, but he also will work on business development in the Longmont area. Don Stroh is president of the bank’s Longmont market.

Chin has 37 years of experience in banking, including 25 years in global markets. He has been in Boulder since 2008 working for Wells Fargo as a senior relationship manager and also in business development, designing structures to facilitate large or unconventional projects.

Sunflower recently named Susan Moratelli, former community bank president for ANB Bank’s Boulder operation, as commercial relationship manager for Sunflower Bank’s new branch in Boulder.

Sunflower Bank is a $1.7 billion community bank, offering personal checking, saving, mortgage and loans options, as well as business deposit, loan and treasury-management services and trust and wealth-management services.  It also has branches in Denver, Monte Vista, Pueblo, Canon City and Greenwood Village, in addition to Kansas and Missouri.
