San Diego firm buys strip mall in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE – A San Diego-based investment firm closed recently on the purchase of a strip mall within the Countryside Village Shopping Center in Lafayette for $2.9 million.

CWC Income Properties 2 LLC, an affiliate of Christopher Weil and Co. Inc., bought the retail center from Chung Wan Leung and Yim Ngor Luk.

The deal covered both parcels of property on which the center sits, 1005 S. Public Road and 179 W. South Boulder Road.

An official for Christopher Weil and Co., could not be reached.

Wendy Leung, the daughter of the former owners, said the center had been 100 percent leased at the time of the sale by a variety of businesses, including a Smoker Friendly, Radio Shack, Cost Cutters and multiple restaurants.

Leung said her parents sold the center because they were getting ready to retire.

“So it was time for them to release some of their commercial property and sit back and enjoy,” Leung said.
