Minnesota-based firm pays $11M for apartment complex in Greeley

GREELEY — Dominium Inc., a Minnesota-based developer and manager of affordable housing, has acquired the Woodside Village Apartments in Greeley.

Dominium, through the entity Greeley Leased Housing Association I, paid $11 million to Affordable Community Housing Trust-Zeta for the 160-unit apartment complex at 144 E. 24th St., according to public records.

Woodside Village Apartments, with a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units, was developed and operates with federal housing financing. Through the federal government’s Section 8 program, renters who make 50 percent or less of the average median income for the area pay no more than 30 percent of their adjusted income for rent.

A spokeswoman for Dominium said the company is planning to make renovations to the apartments this summer.

Based in Plymouth, Minn., Dominium is the fifth-largest owner of affordable housing in the county, owning property valued at $1.6 billion, according to information on its website. It owns two properties in Denver — 1601 Colorado and Park Avenue West, as well as Traditions Apartments in Highlands Ranch. It manages more than 23,000 units in 22 states.
