Local impacts for HP split unclear

The local impacts of Hewlett-Packard’s split into two companies might not be known for a few months as more specifics of the restructuring are detailed.

HP announced Monday that it is splitting into two publicly traded companies, HP Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. HP Inc. will focus on the company’s personal computer and printing business, while Hewlett-Packard Enterprise will be geared toward technology services like data storage, servers and software.

HP has a presence in both Fort Collins and Boulder. Those operations have a large enterprise component, though Fort Collins has significant operations on the personal computer and printing side as well.
