Boulder-based The Kitchen eyeing Pittsburgh for possible expansion

The Kitchen — Kimbal Musk’s Boulder-based restaurant chain that has restaurants in Boulder, Fort Collins, Denver and Chicago — has its eye on another possible out-of-state expansion.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that The Kitchen has been exploring that city as a possibility for a new restaurant. City officials in Pittsburgh noted that Musk has toured the Strip District’s produce terminal, “which is being redeveloped for office, retail and food uses,” though he’s also explored other neighborhood locations.

Last May, The Kitchen announced that it would be opening restaurants in Memphis, Tenn., this year and next.
