Lucky’s Market to open first Denver-area store this summer

WHEAT RIDGE — Lucky’s Market, a Boulder-based natural-foods grocer, said on Wednesday it will open its first store in the Denver-area in late July or August.

The store will anchor The Corners at Wheat Ridge development at the corner of Wadsworth Boulevard and 38th Avenue.  

Lucky’s Market operates stores in South Boulder, North Boulder and Longmont, and overall has 28 stores in 11 states.

Lucky’s Market offers local, natural, organic and traditionally crafted foods as well as a selection of conventional staple items.

The stores feature house-made sausages, fresh seafood and a selection of “never ever” meats from the in-house butcher, free of antibiotics or artificial growth hormones.

The store in Wheat Ridge will offer ready-to-eat meals, made from scratch daily inside the store as well as fresh grab-and-go sushi options, and a new made-to-order Ramen Bar.

Close to 100 artisan cheeses from 10 countries and a large selection of fine charcuterie items can be found in the Lucky’s Cheese Shop. It also has an Olive Bar with more than 20 varieties.

Employees press juices and smoothies throughout the day. The Wheat Ridge store will also feature a café area.

The store includes an apothecary department that has natural remedies and mainstream medicines for common ailments.

The Wheat Ridge store will employ approximately 150 people. Lucky’s four stores in Colorado will employ approximately 550 people.

Lucky’s Market was founded in Boulder in 2003 by former chefs, Bo and Trish Sharon.
