PDC aims to sell 3.5M shares in offering

PDC Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: PDCE), which drills oil and natural-gas wells in Weld County, said Wednesday it plans to sell 3.48 million common shares in an underwritten public offering.

The offering’s underwriters, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, have the option to buy as many as 522,000 additional common shares. Denver-based PDC made the announcement after the market closed Wednesday.

PDC shares gained 3 points, or almost 6 percent, to close at $53.34.
