Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

The volunteer board of directors is made up of nine people representing the various stakeholders in the downtown district.

Candidates should represent various geographical areas of Downtown Boulder’s 49-block radius. Two candidates are needed to fill East End member positions as well as someone to represent the Pearl Street Mall.

BID nominations and appointments are subject to the approval of the Boulder City Council.

To be considered, email or fax a letter of interest to Sean Maher, executive director, at sean@dbi.org or 303-449-1582 by Wednesday, Sept. 5. For more information, call 303-449-3774.
