BlogFrog Inc. closed a Series A funding round, unveiled its new website and announced its software is being used by more than 50,000 “mom bloggers.”

The software has proved popular with so-called “mom bloggers” who write blogs about raising kids, Banks said.

The company also launched its expanded website, www.theblogfrog.com, which publishes material gathered from the blogs in real time.

“We’re almost like a portal. People come to BlogFrog to find the community they want to be in,” Banks said.

Banks declined to disclose the amount of money BlogFrog raised. Investors include TechStars chief executive and co-founder David Cohen.

BlogFrog was started in April 2009 and employs six full-time employees and a handful of part-timers, Banks said.
