One company culture does not fit all
Unfortunately for Joan, her first day of work was also her last. As soon as orientation got started, Joan began to feel uncomfortable. She felt like a fish out of water. By noon she was downright certain she had made a serious mistake in accepting the position. She was simply not a fit for this company.
She gathered her purse and headed to HR to tender her resignation.
Don’t believe the positive or negative hype about a company. Investigate culture for yourself. One person’s dream job is another person’s career nightmare. And a so-called horrible place to work just might turn out to be a great fit for you.
