Vehicle registrations up 31% in Colorado

Colorado new vehicle sales in October were up 31.6 percent when compared to the previous October.

According to the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association, year-to-date vehicle sales are up 22.9 percent in Colorado compared to 2011.

The number of cars registered increased by 26.1 percent year-to-date, while the number of pickups increased by 20.5 percent.

Nationwide, vehicle sales are up 13.3 percent year-to-date, according to the association.

“This postive trend has been consistent for several months in Colorado,´ said Tim Jackson, president of the Colorado Automotive Dealers Association.

“I think historically low interest rates, easier access to credit, more diversity in brands and features and demand for fuel-efficient models are all factors which combine for healthy vehicle sales throughout the state,” Jackson said.
