Sustainability Roundtable comes to Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS – The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado is conducting a series of Sustainability Roundtables around the state that include key stakeholders across government, business, nonprofit and academic sectors. Four successful Roundtables have been completed in Durango, Pueblo, Grand Junction and Steamboat Springs — meeting Reports are available at www.sustainablecolorado.org/programs/outreach.php — and the next meeting will be in Fort Collins, Oct. 1, 8:30 a.m.-noon. The Roundtable will be co-hosted by Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association and New Belgium Brewing Co. and take place on the first floor of New Belgium, east of the tasting room at 500 Linden St. Breakfast will be provided; donation of $10 appreciated.
Roundtable participants will share information about what their organization, business or local government is doing to augment the shift toward a more sustainable region and, as a group, identify best practices and collaborative opportunities. Information from this meeting will contribute to a statewide Sustainability Report to be distributed throughout Colorado.
Representatives from nonprofit, business, government and academic sectors from the region will be in attendance: the Governor’s Energy Office; the Department of Local Affairs; the cities of Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland and Longmont; Poudre School District; University of Northern Colorado and Colorado State University; Be Local Northern Colorado; Waste-Not Recycling; Air Pear by AIRIUS; iCAST; the Institute for the Built Environment; Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory; Green Team Real Estate; and Legacy Land Trust.
