Mueller Pye promotes 3 to ownership roles

LOVELAND — Accountant firm Mueller Pye & Associates CPA has promoted three longtime employees to ownership positions as part of the firm’s long-term leadership-succession plan.

Melissa Cain, Kelli Estrada and Brooke Hupp have become owners and directors of the firm, joining the leadership team as the company continues a transition that began several years ago.

With a staff of 13, the company operates offices in Loveland and by appointment in Estes Park. It also has a location in Katy, Texas.

“Melissa, Kelli and Brooke have been with the firm for many years, and they have shown what it means to put clients first,” managing director Robyn Pye said in a prepared statement. “Their tenure here speaks to their commitment, and their dedication has earned the trust and respect of both colleagues and clients. It is a privilege to welcome them into ownership and to know the firm’s future is in such capable hands.”

Cain, who joined the firm in November 2017, has nearly 20 years of experience in tax planning and leads the firm’s tax services division. A graduate of Texas A&M University, she specializes in business and individual income tax planning and works from the firm’s Katy office.

Estrada has been with Mueller Pye & Associates since September 2016 and serves as director of advisory services. A certified public accountant with more than 10 years of experience, she focuses on business tax and advisory services. She is based in the firm’s Loveland office.

Hupp, director of accounting services, was the firm’s first employee when she joined in November 2008. A QuickBooks ProAdvisor, she specializes in business accounting. She also works from the Loveland office.

The CPA firm was established as Mueller & Associates in Loveland in 2008. It adopted the name Mueller Pye & Associates CPA LLC in 2017 when Robyn Pye joined the firm as a partner.

The ownership changes continue a plan that has been underway for several years. Teresa Mueller retired five years ago, and Paul Mueller transferred day-to-day leadership to Pye on Jan. 1. Paul Mueller will remain active with the firm through the end of 2027, focusing on strategic initiatives before transitioning to an “of counsel” role.
