Crusoe to build modular data centers in Brighton, employing 200
BRIGHTON — Crusoe Energy Systems LLC, a Denver-based AI infrastructure provider, will open a factory in Brighton to manufacture modular, prefabricated data centers.
The company will lease 352,000 square feet at 22600 E. I-76 Frontage Road in the 76 Commerce Center and expects to create more than 200 new jobs in Brighton, with additional jobs created throughout Crusoe’s supply chains. Crusoe employs more than 500 workers in Colorado, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
The $200 million Brighton factory will produce transportable mini-data centers, dubbed Crusoe Spark units, which can be deployed individually as stand-alone computing hubs or grouped to form larger-scale integrated compute clusters.
By treating infrastructure as a manufactured product, Crusoe can deliver the AI-optimized data centers in as little as three months, the company said in a press release.
“Speed is core to Crusoe’s DNA, and is the primary driver behind our new Spark Factory – allowing us to move beyond traditional construction methods to deliver AI infrastructure in a modular productized form factor with velocity,” Cully Cavness, president and chief strategy officer of Crusoe, said in a written statement.
Crusoe Spark units can be paired with a variety of power sources, including solar and repurposed EV batteries, grid power, natural gas power generation, or small modular nuclear reactors.
Crusoe expects to produce its first factory-produced Crusoe Spark modules by the third quarter of 2026 and has already begun hiring for positions in the Denver and Brighton areas, including roles in manufacturing, electrical engineering, and production operations.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, celebrated Crusoe’s investment.
Brighton mayor Gregory Mills noted that the investment “brings cutting-edge advanced manufacturing to our I-76 industrial corridor, further strengthening an area that is already home to many innovative companies. This project reflects the strong collaboration between the Brighton Economic Development Corporation, city departments and Adams County to support new business and ensure a smooth transition.”
76 Commerce Center, a project of Hyde Development, encompasses 155 acres and includes more than 1.7 million square feet of industrial space.
