Mountain-centric brokerage intensifies Front Range expansion with Colorado Landmark Realtors acquisition

BOULDER COUNTY — Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate LLC, a residential real estate brokerage born and raised in Colorado’s mountain communities, is furthering its recent expansion into Front Range markets with the acquisition of the Boulder Valley legacy shop Colorado Landmark Realtors (a trade name for Colorado Landmark-Multiprop Realty Inc.).

The buyer, which owns brokerage houses in locales suchs as Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, and more recently Denver, is absorbing a four-decades-old business with operations in Boulder, Louisville and Niwot.

“Slifer Smith & Frampton has had a strong interest in the Boulder Valley since we began expanding our Front Range operations in 2021,” SSF CEO Jason Cole said in a prepared statement. “We weren’t actively looking to acquire, but in the end, it came down to Colorado Landmark’s agents and our collective commitment to being stewards of our communities. This partnership truly unites our mountain and city communities and positions us to continue being the [number one] independent Colorado real estate brokerage for years to come.”

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The new Colorado Landmark Realtors agency will now be branded as the Colorado Landmark Team at Slifer Smith & Frampton.

“After 45 years at the helm of Colorado Landmark, this decision was an organic and natural one,” Colorado Landmark founder Joel Ripmaster said in a prepared statement. “Slifer Smith & Frampton has set the gold standard for real estate in Colorado, but more importantly there is complete alignment in our values: a focus on our people and our communities. This relationship enables our brokers to do business as they always have — as independent brokers — and with a locally owned and operated powerhouse network behind them.”

“Landmark’s existing brokers will be coming along to the new company; it was a goal of both Landmark and Slifer to retain all of the brokers,” the new combined firm told BizWest in an email.

That includes Joel Ripmaster, who is the managing broker in the Boulder Valley, and his daughter Orly Ripmaster, who is now the Front Range market president.

“Slifer Smith & Frampton has a support staff of more than 100 people dedicated to supporting its brokers — which will now include the Landmark team — including support staff, licensed assistants, branch brokers, marketing and online media specialists, technical support staff, and in-house closing experts,” the company told BizWest. “In addition, SSF is a founding member of Forbes Global Properties, a resource for luxury home buyers and sellers and a new, curated consumer marketplace that connects discerning buyers directly to the world’s finest homes. Landmark will now be a part of that association and be able to market its properties through the Forbes Global Properties website, newsletters, advertising and editorial channels.”

Slifer Smith & Frampton has two existing Front Range offices in Denver.

“There are no immediate further expansion plans at the moment, but we are excited to really build a footprint on the Front Range and continue expanding that footprint in the coming years that is focused on organic growth based on great people,” SSF told BizWest.
