Bustang to resume NoCo service to Broncos games

Bustang, the regional bus service operated by the Colorado Department of Transportation, will resume Northern Colorado service to and from Denver Broncos football games this Saturday.

The roundtrip fare is $15, part of a half-price fare promotion for all Bustang routes through Labor Day.

“As we begin our sixth season of Bustang to Broncos, we’ve been very pleased with how popular the service is for fans, with full buses for all regular season games and most of the preseason games,” said Amber Blake, CDOT’s director of transit and rail, in a media release. “The convenience of having a parking location close to the stadium, along with an arrival about 90 minutes before kickoff, provides time to enjoy the pre-game festivities.

“Bustang to Broncos is an excellent transportation alternative for fans,” she said. “In addition to having a designated driver, it also enhances safety and helps reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by cutting the number of vehicles traveling to and from the stadium.”

All buses are climate controlled, equipped with Wi-Fi, a restroom, USB and power outlets, comfortable seats and wheelchair access. Operated by Ace Express Coaches of Golden, they are cleaned and disinfected upon completion of each day’s routes, including all seats, safety belt buckles and armrests, as well as the front and back of headrests.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. for both Saturday’s preseason game versus the Dallas Cowboys and the Aug. 27 preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings.

For both games, the bus will leave Fort Collins’ Downtown Transit Center at 3:30 p.m., the Harmony Road park-and-ride at 3:55 p.m. and the Loveland U.S. 34 park-and-ride at 4:10 p.m., and will arrive at Empower Field at Mile High’s Lot A around 5:30 p.m.

Thirty minutes after the conclusion of the game or when all passengers are confirmed by a head count, the bus will leave Lot A for the journey north. Based on a 10:30 p.m. departure, the bus would arrive at the Loveland park-and-ride at 11:45 p.m., the Harmony Road park-and-ride at midnight and the Fort Collins Downtown Transit Center at 12:25 a.m.
