Commuting Solutions summit to feature wide range of topics

LOUISVILLE — Transportation experts, public officials and others will gather May 15 at the University of Colorado Boulder for the third Commuting Solutions Sustainable Transportation Summit.

On tap will be discussions ranging from current transportation demand to future impacts of autonomous vehicles.

The conference is meant to grapple with the reality of 80,000 new residents moving to the state each year, and needing to get to work, the doctor or elsewhere.

“The conversation around transportation is not just about how we move around,” Audrey DeBarros, executive director of Commuting Solutions, said when introducing this year’s agenda for the summit. “It’s how we integrate new technologies into existing infrastructure, creating options that are equitable and accessible to all and ensuring a sustainable future for everybody.”

The summit will feature a keynote address from Dr. Daniel Sperling, the founding director of the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis, as well as panels comprised of regional industry experts to provide insight into topics that are impacting growing Colorado cities.

The summit will run from 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at University Memorial Center on the CU Boulder campus. Tickets are $110 for members, $125 for non-members. Limited exhibit spaces are available. Additional information about the summit can be found here.
