Louisville’s Accurence makes first acquisition

LOUISVILLE — Accurence Inc., a company that provides property insurance solutions after structural damage caused by natural occurrences, has made an acquisition.

The Louisville-based company has acquired National Water, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based company that estimates and audits mitigation from water losses. The agreement includes three products: Prime Flood, Prime P&C and Audit.

Under the agreement, the three products will be integrated into the Accurence product line, with the goal to merge Accurence’s expertise in structural scoping with National Water’s proficiency in mitigation.

Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

“The marketplace has validated guideline management standardization as a keystone to provide efficiency and enablement for existing and new workstreams alike,” said Jake Labrie, Accurence’s president, in a statement. “With this acquisition, we are demonstrating our commitment to provide the leading insuretech platform for guideline management with a robust set of estimating and auditing automation solutions.”

The acquisition is the first for Accurence but follows a strategic partnership the two companies formed about a year ago. It adds depth to the company’s existing product offerings and its client portfolio.
