Anadarko to begin seismic sensing in Loveland

LOVELAND — Crews from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. began on Sunday the initial phases of an underground geologic survey within Loveland. The company began to place seismic sensors on city of Loveland property.

The Reporter-Herald reported that placement of sensors had already begun in Weld County and work is expected to continue west into an area near U.S. Highway 34 and Interstate 25. Once the sensors are placed, then vibrator vehicles and “thumper” trucks will traverse the area in order to create an underground signal that the sensors will record. From the data collected, the company will be able to tell whether oil and gas resources are sufficient enough to warrant its attention.
