Louisville transportation firm honored for advocacy

LOUISVILLE — Commuting Solutions, a Lousiville-based transportation solutions firm, was awarded the Excellence in Advocacy award for its project “Transportation Matters” by the Association for Commuter Transportation.

Commuting Solutions joined a broad coalition of public and private partners earlier this year to launch the “Transportation Matters” initiative. The project was designed to ensure funding and the vision for the Northwest Metro Region’s multimodal future for communities along U.S. 36. Commuting Solutions co-hosted several town halls with the U.S. 36 Mayors and Commissioners Coalition to help communities look at the shortfalls and transportation needs for the region.

“Organizations like Commuting Solutions are leading efforts within their local communities and nationally that aim to improve the quality of life of commuters, improve the livability of communities, and support economic growth,” said David Straus, Executive Director of ACT, in a prepared statement.  “It is a great achievement to be selected by your peers and we applaud all of your achievements.”
