Ball Corp. shutting down beverage-packing plant in Brazil
BROOMFIELD – Ball Corp. said it’s shutting down a Brazilian beverage-packaging plant, affecting 70 employees.
The Denver Business Journal reports that Broomfield-based Ball (NYSE: BLL) said some of the employees at the 20-year-old beverage-packing plant in Cuiabá, Brazil may transfer to other Ball Brazilian operations.
Within the last 15 months, Ball has made announcements that it would shut down its food-can production line in Springdale, Ark; three beverage-packing plants in Alabama, California and Texas; and a can-production facility in Germany.
