Nortek Global opening Loveland distribution center

LOVELAND — Nortek Global HVAC LLC, a manufacturer of heating and cooling equipment, is opening a distribution center in the Loveland-Fort Collins Industrial Airpark in Loveland.

Nortek Global has leased 18,900-square-feet of industrial space at 5802 Byrd Drive located west of Interstate 25 and east of the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport. Global manufactures and sells HVAC systems under several brands including Maytag, Broan, Frigidaire, NuTone, Westinghouse and Reznor. Products include furnaces, air-conditioners and heat pumps.

Nortek Global is based on O’Fallon, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis, and is a subsidiary of Providence, R.I.-based Nortek Inc. (Nasdaq: NTK).

Realtor Jim Mokler represented the landlord, Crashway LLC, in the lease deal. He said Nortek will occupy about half of the 37,800-square-foot building and will use the space as a distribution center.

“We are excited to bring Nortek to the area,” Mokler said. “They are a strong company and will bring new jobs.”

Eric Cappell, director of company-owned distribution for Nortek, said at the outset three employees will work in the center handling sales and warehouse duties. “We expect to employ about nine people at the center once it’s in full operation,” he said. Cappell said most of Nortek’s clients at the distribution center will be dealers and repair companies.

Nortek will keep its distribution center in Englewood. Capell said opening in Loveland will let the company better serve customers in Northern Colorado where there is considerable growth.

Mokler, and Steve Stansfield and Erik Broman of Realtec Commercial Real Estate Services Inc., listed the property. Tom Stahl of Colliers International in Denver represented the tenant.
