Sears applies for building permits at Foothills Mall site

The mystery around whether Sears would return to the Foothills Mall appears to have come to an end with an answer in the affirmative.

The Coloradoan reports that the big-box retailer applied for building permits Friday to build out an outlying 10,000-square-foot building at the mall located at 3400 S. College Ave. Sears closed its anchor store in the mall in 2014 with the idea that the store would reopen in a much smaller space as redevelopment of the mall occurred. But those plans began to be called into question when reopening plans were delayed.
