Boulder apartment rents stay on top as state’s rates taper
Although Colorado’s growth in apartment-rental cost has tapered off recently, it still is pricier than national averages, according to a report released Monday by San Francisco-based Apartment List — and Boulder remains the priciest.
The median monthly rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Boulder was $1,900, and one-bedroom units were averaging $1,560, according to the report. It noted that Boulder rents have increased 2.7 percent in the past year. The city ranked 10th in the report for annual rental growth, behind first-place Westminster at 14.5 percent.
Fort Collins recorded a $1,380 median price for a two-bedroom apartment. Its 3.9 percent increase from January 2015 ranked it ninth for rental growth. Although that rate outpaces national averages, it’s still well below the statewide average of 6.2 percent, according to Apartment List.
