25 Noble Energy job cuts land in Greeley
Detailing an expected round of job cuts announced late last month, officials for Noble Energy, one of the largest oil and gas producers in Northern Colorado, said Tuesday that 25 employees have been laid off in Greeley.
The Denver Business Journal reports that the Houston-based company is also cutting 45 jobs in Denver, meaning Colorado will account for 70 of the 180 layoffs across the company.
Noble and others in the oil industry have been hit hard this year by an oil price slump that doesn’t appear to be going away any time soon. In April, Noble announced a round of 100 Colorado layoffs, including 20 in Greeley. That round knocked the company’s employee count in Colorado down to 950, meaning Tuesday’s cuts took the company down to the 880 range.
