Advanced Energy lands solar inverter deal with Swinerton

FORT COLLINS – Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) said that it has been awarded 325 megawatts of solar projects by San Diego-based Swinerton Renewable Energy.

The installation and commissioning of the projects is expected to begin in 2015 and continue into 2016. Swinerton Renewable Energy is a division of San Francisco-based Swinerton Builders, which also has an office in Denver.

Swinerton Renewable Energy, one of the largest solar contractors in the nation and the top solar contractor in California, specializes in installing utility-scale solar projects throughout North America.

“After evaluating the inverter market, we determined that the Advanced Energy 1000NX inverter will allow us to maximize our solar energy production while reducing balance of system and construction costs,” said George Hershman, vice president and division manager for Swinerton Renewable Energy, in a statement.

Advanced Energy says the inverter has a cooling system that makes it ideal for desert environments and has a reliable integration of solar energy into the utility-scale power system.
