Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau names Kimberly States CEO

DENVER — The Better Business Bureau of Denver/Boulder announced Monday that Kimberly States has been named the president and chief executive of the organization effective Wednesday, March 25.

States

States succeeds Su Hawk, who announced in November she would leave the organization to pursue new career opportunities. Johnna Caruthers, vice president of business relations, has been serving as interim CEO.

States has served as president/CEO of the BBB Serving Southern Arizona in Tucson since 2008; prior to taking the CEO position she served two years as the media relations/marketing director at the Tucson BBB.

In Tucson, States served on the advisory board of University of Arizona Center for Leadership Ethics and the board of directors for the Southern Arizona Child Advocacy Center. States was a charter member of the Tucson chapter of the Women’s President Organization, was named a 2010 Woman of Influence by Inside Tucson Business and is a 2012 graduate of Greater Tucson Leadership.

States is also involved with the BBB at the national level, serving on the board of directors for the Council of Better Business Bureaus and on the council’s Bureau Operating Committee as chairwoman of the Budget and Finance Subcommittee.

States, who grew up northeast of Greeley, is a graduate of Colorado State University.
