Sierra Nevada lands $23M in state incentives to build Springs facility
Nevada-based Sierra Nevada Corp., which bases its Space Systems division in Louisville, received approval of a $23.2 million incentive package from the state Thursday to open a new division in Colorado Springs and create more than 1,300 jobs there.
The Denver Business Journal reports that the $88 million campus will house SNC’s new Sierra Completions division, which will “create jet interiors and overhaul aircraft for corporations and heads of state.”
The facility, which could eventually house as many as 2,100 employees, will be built over the next five years. The state incentive package follows a package worth $357 million granted by the city of Colorado Springs and El Paso County.
