JBS workers set to vote on proposed contract July 22
GREELEY – The 3,000 United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 members working at the JBS Beef Plant in Greeley will vote Tuesday whether to ratify a new five-year labor deal with JBS.
The union announced on Friday that it had reached a tentative agreement with JBS USA (Bovespa: JBSS3) after 11 months of negotiations that began last August. The two sides agreed in September to extend the old deal while negotiations took place.
The new deal came just a couple of weeks after workers had voted to strike. The union’s entire bargaining committee has recommended the new deal’s approval.
