Kennedy & Coe, Matsom & Isom to merge

Kennedy and Coe LLC, one of the region’s largest accounting firms, will merge with Matsom and Isom, effective Jan. 1, 2015.

Chico, Calif.-based Matsom and Isom does about one-third of its business in the food and agriculture industry, where Kennedy and Coe also focuses its efforts.

Jeff Wald, current CEO of Kansas-based Kennedy and Coe, will serve as CEO of the merged firm, which will have a new, yet-to-be-chosen, name.

Together, the firm will employ 375 and will bring in nearly $60 million in revenue, according to a release.

“Neither of our firms are interested in growth for growth’s sake. What we’re interested in is helping the food and ag industry through some challenging yet exciting times. We can do that a lot better together than separately,” said Jim Holt, Matson and Isom’s managing director in a statement. “We’ve both worked alongside farmers for several generations. We know what their land and their lifestyle mean to them, and we know how to help them in the tough times and the good.”
