Construction milestone today at Banner Fort Collins hospital

FORT COLLINS – The last piece of structural steel will be put in place at the Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, marking a construction milestone for the project, which broke ground last fall.

“Completion of the steel infrastructure is an important event in any project of this magnitude,´ said Rick Sutton, CEO of Banner Health in Northern Colorado in a statement.

“It is a visible sign of our progress and brings us one step closer to completion,” he said.

The medical campus, an $86 million project, is located near the intersection of Harmony Road and Lady Moon Drive in southeast Fort Collins and will include a 24-bed hospital.

In addition to the inpatient beds, the campus will include an emergency department, medical imaging, labor and delivery rooms, women’s services, and surgical and lab services in about 145,000 square feet.

Future phases of the project could increase its size to 384,000 square feet.

The project is slated to open in spring 2015. Kaiser, which opened a clinic just west of the hospital site on Harmony Road, has partnered with Banner Health so that its members may use Banner services, including its hospitals.
