Cynthia Dietrick received the Bebe Price Award for Community Service from Foothills United Way during its Live United 2013 celebration held at the University of Colorado-Boulder on June 5. The nonprofit organization also presented Spirit of the Community awards to Terry Benjamin, the Bridge House Resource Center and CableLabs.
David Barrett, owner of Barrett Studio Architects in Boulder, was inducted into the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows on June 21. The college recognizes architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society, and achieved a standard of excellence in the profession locally and nationally.

Joe Romano, owner of eight Domino’s Pizza stores in and around Boulder and Douglass counties and co-owner of 35 Domino’s Pizza stores in Dallas and surrounding areas, was awarded the International Franchise Association’s Gold Franny Award for operational excellence. The award will be celebrated at an upcoming Domino’s Pizza awards ceremony in London. The awards are based on operational audit scores, community involvement, store safety and security, and team member morale.

Boulder-based JNBridge LLC was named to the 2013 SD Times 100 in the “APIs, Libraries and Frameworks” category. SD Times names companies and organizations of all sizes who have demonstrated leadership and innovation that contribute to the advancement of the software development industry over the past calendar year.
The Boulder Chamber recognized five women leaders with awards for addressing business or community needs. Lenna Kotke, executive director of Via Mobility for Life was one of the five who received a 2013 Women Who Light the Community award. Via is a nonprofit transportation group that helps seniors and other residents live more independently by giving them rides to places where they need to go. Also receiving awards were Diana Sherry, creator of the Boulder Public Library’s BoulderReads! Program, which promotes literacy and helps people discover the power and joy of reading; Sue Coffee, founding artistic director of Sound Circle, a women’s a cappella ensemble and the Resonance Women’s Chorus; Julie Colwell, co-founder of the Boulder Center for Conscious Community, a nonprofit group that helps people discover their authentic selves; and Paula Dupre Pesmen, executive director of There With Care, a nonprofit group that helps families with children facing critical illness.
